Sixteen characters built entirely out of code. No imported models, no scans, no asset packs.
Every shape in this gallery, the donkey, the sugar skull, the sombrero, the chair, the burger, is primitive geometry (spheres, cones, cylinders) composed and lit in Three.js. The sky is a canvas texture painted onto the inside of a giant sphere. The hills are a displaced plane. I wanted to see how far just spheres and cones could go before it stopped looking like spheres and cones.
Each tile in the grid sits at rest zoomed in tight, close enough that it reads as a flat color field. Hover, and the camera pulls back to reveal what is actually there. Drag to rotate it. Scroll to zoom past the reveal point. Click for a small reaction.
The roster: donkey, star, sombrero, pinata, cactus, pepper, taco, sugar skull, lightning bolt, heart, burger, chair, plant, diamond, mushroom, crown. Three.js r128, a single HTML file, no build step.
